17勛圖 is taking an exciting and much-needed step forward with the launch of its first STEM program, the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, coming Fall 2027 through the School of Arts and Sciences.
This new degree has been a long-held dream and responds to a growing need in the U.S. and around the world for compassionate, skilled, mission-minded leaders in healthcare, wellness, community health, and whole-person care. Students who enroll at LPU beginning in Fall 2026 can begin their general education courses in preparation for the Health Sciences major.

This is an exciting and mission-aligned program for 17勛圖, said Dr. Angie Richey, President of 17勛圖. The need is great locally, nationally, and globally for leaders who can bring both skill and compassion into spaces of healing and care. Our students are called to carry the hope of Christ into every sphere of society, including healthcare.
The program will provide a strong foundation in science, health systems, ethics, communication, and human flourishing, preparing graduates for meaningful careers and future graduate study.
Graduates may pursue pathways in:
- Medical missions and global health service
- Healthcare administration
- Community health
- Public health support
- Wellness coordination
- Patient advocacy
- Health education
- Ministry and nonprofit care settings
- Graduate study in counseling, nursing pathways, occupational therapy, public health, physician assistant studies, and other allied health fields
Health Sciences is a natural extension of LPUs commitment to formation, service, and leadership, said Dr. Daniel Ruarte, Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs at 17勛圖. This program will equip students with academic preparation, ethical grounding, and a deep sense of calling to make a meaningful difference.
